Program Description: Provides a wide variety of services and activities that are structured to meet the varied needs of the community through programs offering assistance in the areas of housing, employment, financial, medical services and will assist with deposits to have water, electric and gas turned back on to qualified applicants. Low Income Energy Assistance Program – LIHEAP- Home energy assistance is provided to low-income household which fall below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and crisis payments not to exceed $400 per season. Elderly Home Energy Assistance Program – EHEAP Home energy assistance provided to households that contain an individual aged 60+ which have a heating or cooling emergency. Income must fall below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Maximum amount is $400. Priority will be given to households comprised of residents who are 60 years of age and over, the disabled/handicapped, homebound, and parents/guardians with children. Priority will be given to those residents who have never received assistance from this program in the past. Family Development and Project Opportunity Program Services This program is designed to provide an array of services for families in need of long-term intervention case management services. Holistic services are provided according to a case plan based on each individual and family member’s needs, potential and motivational level. Educational and vocational training, day care, employment counseling, clothing and uniform assistance can be rendered.
