The non-profit will provide short-term housing and other social services for homeless families and for persons somehow affected by homelessness. While limited, there may be hotel rooms, vouchers and some other transitional housing units offered. In addition, case managers will help people transition from the instability of homelessness to a new, long-term permanent residence. During your stay, also receive financial counseling, credit repair, life skills, and even job training.

This is a transitional housing program for residents that have no other options for shelter or affordable housing. People who stay at the units will need to pay a portion of their income towards their monthly rent. Case management type services are required from clients that use the facility.

Community Action Council
There are several offices in Fayette County. The transitional housing resource they run is known as Project Independence. It is for homeless families and the very poor in the community. Once housing has been established, Community Action staff work with clients to set goals, provide information on any rent subsides, and learn tools to maintain stable housing.
