Government Sites & Resources

• Center for Sex Offender Management – Established in June 1997, the Center for Sex Offender Management’s (CSOM) goal is to enhance public safety by preventing further victimization through improving the management of adult and juvenile sex offenders who are in the community. It is a project of the Office of Justice Program and the U.S. Department of Justice.
• The Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website – The Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website, coordinated by the U.S. Department of Justice, is a cooperative effort between the jurisdictional agencies hosting public sexual offender registries and the federal government.

Support & Counseling

• The Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health – The Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH) offers hope and valuable resources to those seeking information about sexual addiction.
• American Psychological Association – American Psychological Association (APA) is a scientific and professional organization that represents psychology in the United States. With 148,000 members, APA is the largest association of psychologists worldwide.
• Safer Society Foundation – Safer Society Foundation is dedicated to eliminating sexual abuse so that all of us may enjoy safer communities, healthier families and happier lives. Their work focuses on providing resources to help create safer communities through prevention and effective public policy, provide victims with healing and restitution, and provide offenders with the tools to be accountable for their actions and to work towards rehabilitation.
• Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers– The Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) is non-profit, interdisciplinary organization. ATSA was founded to foster research, facilitate information exchange, further professional education and provide for the advancement of professional standards and practices in the field of sex offender evaluation and treatment.
• SexHelp by Dr. Patrick Carnes – SexHelp is created by Dr. Patrick Carnes, an an internationally known speaker on addiction and recovery issues and his site provides new insights into sexual addiction and resources for recovery.
• Stop It Now! – Stop It Now! prevents the sexual abuse of children by mobilizing adults, families and communities to take actions that protect children before they are harmed.
• Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA) – ex Addicts Anonymous, SAA, is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so they may overcome their sexual addiction and help others recover from sexual addiction or dependency.
• Sexaholics Anonymous (SA) – Sexaholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover.
• Sexual Compulsives Anonymous (SCA) – Sexual Compulsives Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other, that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from sexual compulsion. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop having compulsive sex.
• Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) – Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
• Narcotics Anonymous (NA) – Narcotics Anonymous is an international, community-based association of recovering drug addicts with more than 43,900 weekly meetings in over 127 countries worldwide.
• Codependents of Sex Addicts (COSA) – Codependents of Sex Addicts is a 12-step recovery program for men and women whose lives have been affected by another person’s compulsive sexual behavior.
• Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (S.L.A.A.) – Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous is a Twelve Step Fellowship of men and women who help each other to stay sober. They offer the same help to anyone who has sex addiction or love addiction or both and wants to do something about it.
• Sexual Recovery Anonymous (SRA) – Sexual Recovery Anonymous (SRA), a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem -sexual addiction—and help others to recover.
• Sexual Addiction Recovery Resources – Sexual Addiction Recover Resources is listing of websites that provides information for individuals whom are dealing with a sexual addictions, loved ones dealing with a sexual addicted person, and professionals whom treat sexual addicted individuals.
• Beyond the Sex Abuse, A Personal Self-Help Recovery Program – This website mission is to provide sex offenders, sex addicts and sexually abusive persons with a Model Plan to stop victimizing behaviors and cycles of sexual abuse. The Plan accomplishes this by teaching offenders how to create a personalized comprehensive life changing Relapse Prevention Plan which becomes their LifeAfter Management Plan.
• The Awareness Center – The Awareness Center is the Jewish Coalition Against Sexual Abuse/Assault (JCASA) and are dedicated to provide education, information and resources to survivors of sexual violence, family members of survivors and sex offenders, religious leaders rabbis, and the Jewish communities globally.
• FaithTrust Institute – FaithTrust Institute believes that the best way to address domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault and sexual violence is through a united front of religious and nonreligious resources. They Offer specifically designed training and educational materials to help religious institutions of all faiths reduce incidents of sexual abuse by clergy and to train clergy on boundary issues.
• Sex Abuse Treatment Alliance (SATA) – The Sex Abuse Treatment Alliance (SATA) is dedicated to preventing sexual abuse through education, outreach, and community reconciliation of sexual abusers.
• Sexual Offender Treatment – This site is the journal Sexual Offender Treatment, the official journal of the International Association for the Treatment of Sexual Offenders (IATSO).
• Rehabinfo – RehabInfo.net is a comprehensive guide for the entire treatment process – from spotting issues to finding and enrolling into rehabilitation.
• Prevention Organization – The goal of the Prevention Organization “DIS NO” of French-speaking Switzerland (“Espace DIS NO”) is to develop the innovative preventive approach consisting in offering help services to the persons who are sexually attracted by children but who have never acted out.

Internet Sexual Problems

• Cybersexual Addiction – Cybersexual Addiction offers help to you or someone you know that is using the computer for sexual activities that are causing harm or losses, to themselves or those they love.
• Internet Behavior Consulting – Internet Behavior Consulting (IBC) provides cybersex addiction research and resources, conducts cybersex addiction trainings, and cybersex addiction consultations to further the understanding, assessment, and intervention for cybersex addiction.
• Croga.org – Croga.org provides free, anonymous self-help resources for people who are worried about downloading and using illegal images (also called “child pornography”).
• ChildLustRecovery.org – The purpose of ChildLustRecovery.org is to encourage those using child pornography to stop and get needed help. It’s also devoted to helping families and friends of child porn users and facilitating the reporting of child abuse.

Juvenile Resources

• National Adolescent Perpetration Network – The National Adolescent Perpetration Network (NAPN) is a cooperative network of multidisciplinary professionals working with sexually abusive youth in the US and abroad. Founded by Gail Ryan in 1983, the primary goal is to facilitate services for adolescents who are at risk of becoming the next generation of sexual offenders.
• My5th – My5th is a non-profit that is devoted to guiding people through the law and how it applies to them. They focus on informing teenagers about the laws that could affect them if they engage in sexual activity.
• Ethical Treatment for All Youth – Ethical Treatment for All Youth advocates for the humane and just treatment of children and teenagers accused of violating sex laws.
• National Center on Sexual Behavior of Youth – The overall goal of the National Center on Sexual Behavior of Youth is to provide information and support through national training and technical assistance to improve the accuracy, accessibility, and strategic use of information about the nature, incidence, prevalence, treatment, re-entry, and management of children with sexual behavior problems and adolescent sex offenders.

Family Resources

• Women Again Registry – A bold national initiative that serves as a unifying force for the efforts of all groups working to reverse the negative impact of public registration laws on American society. National support line (Registrants & Families Support Line 800-773-4319)
• S-Anon – The S-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of the relatives and friends of sexually addicted people who share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems.
• Healing Wives – Healing Wives is the only known online resource for wives, ex-wives, and girlfriends of sex offenders.
• Family for Fairness – Family for Fairness is dedicated to working for fairness in sex offender legislation for teenage first offenders.
• Citizens-for-Second Chances – Citizens-for-Second Chances is a Michigan based support group for families of individuals convicted of -or- charged with a sex offense.
• Collateral Damage: Family Members of Registered Sex Offenders – A study to better understand the impact of sex offender registration and notification laws on the family members of registered sex offenders (RSO).(This is a .pdf file)
• Family and Corrections Network – Family and Corrections Network has provided ways for those concerned with families of prisoners to share information and experiences in an atmosphere of mutual respect. They have done this through publishing, sponsoring conferences, liaison with other agencies, presentations, and consultation. They have published information on children of prisoners, parenting programs for prisoners, prison visiting, incarcerated fathers, hospitality programs and a variety of other topics.
• Loving A Convict – Loving A Convict was founded by an Ex-Convict with a goal in mind. That goal being, to help other Convicts,Ex-Convict & Families.
• Support for SO Wives – The goal of Support for SO Wives is to create a supportive environment where wives of sex offenders who are on parole or probation can feel free to discuss their feelings and experiences in a shame-free way.
• The Offender’s Wife – The Offender’s Wife focuses on helping wives placed in this circumstance (loving a person required to register) to find a more intimate relationship with the God who passionately loves them. God is enthralled with us even in the middle of the messes of life.
• Moms Seeking Justice – This is a source of encouragement, support and information for moms who have a kid that is labeled a “sex offender” due to being immature, irresponsible, or curious. We need to stand together to give our kids their Constitutional Rights back and tell the lawmakers to change the laws NOW.

• Report of the Sex Offender Policy Task Force – A report of the Sex Offender Policy Task Force by the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers written in 2007. It is a report written to outline where the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers stand on sexual related laws, punishments and registration.
• Disposition and Treatment of Juvenile Sex Offenders from the Perspective of Restorative Justice – Restorative justice views crime as harm for which the person responsible must be held accountable by a victim-driven, community-based process. This chapter examines juvenile justice processes in Canada and the US and identifies trends toward more intense punishment, routine lack of attention to victim needs, and underutilization of the family. It describes the percentages of offenders who were re-arrested, had new court cases filed, were re-convicted, or remanded to custody for new offenses or for probation or parole violations. The report shows how soon after release these events occurred, and what factors were most closely related to an increased chance that offenders would be involved again in the criminal justice system. Reforming Sex Offender Laws

• ReformSexOffenderLaws.org – The purpose of this website is to raise critical awareness about legal and social policy in the United States about sex offenders.
• Rights & Law Network – The Rights & Law Network Coalition is made up of supporters from around the country who believe that current polices formulated to handle offenders are dangerous and unconstitutional.
• SOSEN – Sex Offender Support and Eduction Network.
• Moral Outrage – Moral Outrage is dedicated to the reform of statutory rape laws. As they currently exist, statutory rape laws undermine the rights of both minors and adults while costing the taxpayer thousands of dollars every year in the prosecution of senseless sex crimes.
• Citizens for Change, America – Citizens for Change, America supports the prevention of child sexual abuse through carefully structured laws that target violent, forced, and/or dangerous predatory acts of sex against children. Existing laws encompass a wide range of offenders and require the exact same resources be used for both violent, dangerous offenders and those whose offenses were neither violent, forced, nor dangerous.
