{"id":2479,"date":"2017-07-26T21:16:25","date_gmt":"2017-07-27T01:16:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sexoffenderonestopresource.com\/florida\/?p=2479"},"modified":"2017-07-26T21:16:25","modified_gmt":"2017-07-27T01:16:25","slug":"new-florida-internet-identifier-law-approved-by-governor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sexoffenderonestopresource.com\/florida\/new-florida-internet-identifier-law-approved-by-governor\/","title":{"rendered":"New Florida Internet Identifier Law Approved by Governor"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"et_post_meta_wrapper\">\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\">New Florida Internet Identifier Law Approved by Governor<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Florida House Bill 699, which \u201c[r]evises definition of term \u201cInternet identifier\u201d; defines \u201csocial Internet communication\u201d; requires sexual predators &amp; sexual offenders to register each Internet identifier\u2019s corresponding website homepage or application software name with FDLE through sheriff\u2019s office; requires sexual predators &amp; sexual offenders to report any change to certain information after initial in-person registration in specified manner.\u201d was approved by Governor Scott yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>In essence; the new law requires registrants to register the \u201cidentifier\u201d and where the identifier is used (ie: homepage of website or software application name\u201d). The full text of the new law can be found here:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/static-lobbytools.s3.amazonaws.com\/bills\/2017\/pdf\/0699ER.pdf\">http:\/\/static-lobbytools.s3.amazonaws.com\/bills\/2017\/pdf\/0699ER.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The law requires that one registers, \u201ceach Internet identifier\u2019s corresponding website homepage or application software name, with the department through the department\u2019s online system or in person at the sheriff\u2019s office within 48 hours after using such electronic mail addresses and Internet identifiers\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the FDLE\u2019s Cyber Communication System\u00a0does not\u00a0allow you to register the \u201ccorresponding website homepage or application software name<strong>\u201c.<\/strong>\u00a0Unless the system is updated, we suggest registering them at the Sheriff\u2019s office or calling the FDLE at 1-888-357-7332 for guidance on what to do in order to committing a crime by not registering the \u201ccorresponding website homepage or application software name<strong>\u201c<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Note that this new law does not stop the lawsuit, which is still pending and will continue.
